As the third busiest airport in Malaysia, Penang is proudly home to Penang International Airport which serves a large region and provides extensive links with major cities across South East Asia and beyond.

 

Known as the main transportation hub in Penang, Penang Sentral is the terminus for both public and intercity buses, and it is physically connected to the nearby Butterworth train station and the Penang Ferry terminal.

 

Travelling to PICCA @ Butterworth Arena is convenient as there are several modes of transportation easily accessible to choose from. Whether coming from plane or train, you can opt for a taxi or make use of e-hailing services if you are travelling from the airport or Penang Sentral.

Penang consists of two halves, Penang Island which is where the capital city and UNESCO World Heritage Site George Town lies, and Seberang Perai, a strip of land on the peninsula. Butterworth is the largest urban town in Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia.

Penang Island is a 20-minute ferry ride from Seberang Perai. The renowned Penang Bridge and Second Penang Bridge are linked to the mainland and Penang International Airport receives international flights from a variety of countries.

Penang has a tropical rainforest climate all year-round where temperatures range from 29°C to 35°C during the day and 26°C to 29°C at night. Expect frequent rain during the monsoon season that takes place between April to May and October to November.
